Strategy overview

The Health Skills Formation Strategy was implemented to facilitate an industry-led and industry-wide approach to critical workforce issues. This strategy focussed on statewide issues covering all occupations across the health industry, including indigenous health. The primary focus was to provide opportunities for stakeholders to work together to identify and implement workforce solutions designed to support sustainable health workforce practices.

The Industry Group leading the Skills Formation Strategy continues to meet with support from the Health and Community Services Workforce Council. The group continues to provide advice on workforce projects and advice to government on the needs of the health industry more broadly. The group represents the not for profit, private, and government sectors as well as Indigenous health services, professional associations, universities, and vocational education training providers.

A number of projects and activites have been progressed through this group. Details of these projects and the final reports can be viewed under strategy publications.
