About Skills Formation Strategies
The Skills Formation Strategy program is a workforce planning and development initiative of Skills Queensland. Short and long term strategies to address the identified issues are then developed and implemented.
Through the program Skills Queensland provides seed funding to industries and communities to set up formal networks to identify common workforce needs and challenges.
The strategies focus on a process of change within an industry or community that encourages participants to own, and be responsible for workforce planning and development.
The objectives of the Skills Formation Strategy program are:
- support workforce and labour supply issues by building the capacity of an industry/region
- support industry's/ regional workforce initiatives by enhancing the capacity of the education and training system
- support labour and workforce issues into the future by developing ongoing industry/regionally owned processes of engagement.
