Welcome to Skills Formation Strategies
The Skills Formation Strategy program helps Queensland industries and communities to work together to plan and develop their workforce.A key objective of Skills Queensland is to support workforce planning and development.
The program provides seed funding to set up formal industry and community networksto identify common workforce needs and challenges. Short and long term strategies to address the identified issues are then developed and implemented.
Since 2003 there have been over 50 strategies supported throughout Queensland. Skills Queensland is currently supporting10 industry and community projects.

Whitsunday Industrial Workforce Development
The Skills Formation Strategy launched in the Whitsundays at the start of this year has made great strides forward in meeting its purpose, which is to build a sustainable, skilled local workforce capable of meeting the industrial expansion of the Whitsunday Region.
